New commissions are undertaken in a three stage process.
Stage 1
The normal first stage is a meeting to establish a rapport and discuss the design considerations such as style of design, location, glass colour & texture. Glass samples can be viewed and examples of designs shown. Sometimes a client will have a very clear specification for the commission, sometimes it will be more a case of evolving a design by reference to the client. On domestic commissions it can be a quite a personal and involved choice and we aim to ensure that the finished piece reflects what the client feels is fitting and appropriate.
There is a flat charge of 30 per hour for this
first meeting after the first half-hour. At this stage a rough cost estimate can
also be given. From the end of the first meeting onwards any time spent on
designs, further meetings and other work involved with producing the glass is
charged at 24 per hour.
Stage 2 Once the design constraints have been established
an agreed number of designs will be produced and a second meeting arranged (or
e-mail contact) to agree and sign off a final design. A Full cost estimate can
also be given at this point.
Stage 3
Once the design and glass have been selected the glass panel(s) will be produced at the workshop and then either brought to the client, picked up by the client or brought to site and fitted by us. On delivery or receipt of the finished glass full payment will be required. Unfortunately handover of finished glass cannot be made to third parties without full payment.
